Well, we had a quote from a local Corgi installer yesterday, and today, it was the turn of British Gas.
The guy had a good look around, and recommended a Worcester 28i Junior Boiler, with a wireless thermostat, which was similar to the installation suggested by the Corgi installer.
What I wasn’t ready for was the price. I had fully expected British gas to come in with a quote of at least £5k, but they were only £300 more than the local guy, and this included 1 year service cover worth £200, so we made the decision to go with them.
I feel a little guilty as I would have rather gone with the smaller local company, but BG just made us an offer that we’d have been daft to refuse.
Hopefully a surveyor will come out this week, and the work will be done the next week. It can’t come soon enough for us, as it really isn’t any fun having no hot water.
